Looking for a smart phone? Check out the OnePlus 3

On the off chance that you are not familiar with OnePlus (where have you been??), they are a Chinese manufacturer of high-end smart phones at mid-range prices. I can vouch for OnePlus as phone manufacturers since I have owned the OnePlus X as well as the OnePlus 2 and I’m planning on picking up a OnePlus 3 shortly. They are fantastic phones, period. I’ve been through my share of smart phones and since my iPhone 1, I’ve been well and truly hooked on these smart devices.

There are certain things that really “grind my gears”

  • I don’t want to be locked into a 2-year contract in order to get a phone. I want to buy a phone and beat up the providers when my 12-month contract comes up for renewal
  • I hate that providers lock their phone to their network! If I take my phone to the USA or anywhere outside of Europe, ill buy a local sim card with my unlocked phone
  • The price of these devices is really not justified. I understand that marketing. R&D etc. is expensive but come on! More of the pricing of these products (in my opinion) is to make the user feel elitist by having an expensive phone. That is until you drop it in the toilet because you were playing candy crush.

Often, when hackers go after large sites they publish the information on (usually sketchy) websites. This information can be sold to potential cyber criminals for relatively small amounts of money when you take into account the money that could be made from accessing your email accounts. Once they get in they can search for your online accounts and start resetting passwords. Usually by the time you notice, the damage is done.

My advice?
